The University of Arizona Wildcat men's and No. 7 women's track and field teams both have athletes competing in the 2013 NCAA West Preliminary Round in Austin, Texas.
The University of Arizona men's and No. 7 women's track and field program will host the 2013 Tucson Elite Classic on Thursday and Saturday at Roy P. Drachman Stadium.
The Pac-12 Championships will take place on May 11-12 at USC's Cromwell Field and Katherine B. Loker Stadium.

2012: Indoors, Johnson posted a personal-best mark of 61-4 in the weight throw, good for fifth place at the MPSF Championships ... At the Boise State Team Challenge, Johnson had a toss of 58-6.75, good for second place ... Outdoors, Johnson earned All-America status, making him the first Wildcat to earn All-America honors in the men's hammer throw since Tapio Kolunsarka in 1997 ... He threw 209-7 at the NCAA Championships, good for eighth place overall ... His personal-best mark of 213-5 came at the NCAA West Preliminaries, where Johnson earned a third-place finish and punched his ticket for the NCAA Championships ... His mark of 213-5 is the third-best toss in Arizona history ... At the Pac-12 Championships, Johnson took fourth place with a toss of 204-8.
2011: He redshirted the indoor season ... During the outdoor season, Johnson set a personal best at the NCAA West Preliminaries in the hammer throw with a mark of 210-6 to place seventh ... At the Pac-10 Championships, he threw 205-3 and earned all-conference honors.
2010: Competing indoors, Johnson was a productive weight thrower, placing ninth at the MPSF Indoor Championships with a throw of 58-3.75. He redshirted the outdoor season.
2009: Johnson qualified for the NCAA West Regional Championships in the hammer throw with a mark of 192-11, set at the Pac-10 Championships ... Finished just shy of all-conference honors at the meet with his ninth-place finish ... Also competed in Trinidad at the 2009 Pan-American Junior Championships in the hammer throw, finishing fifth ... Was third at the U.S. Junior National Championships.
