Women Take Third, Lalang and Sambu With 1-2 Finish

The No.2 women's cross country team took third at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational while Lawi Lalang and Stephen Sambu finished in first and second place, respectively.

2012: Indoors, Kandie ran the mile in 4:18.11 at the Husky Classic ... He took 23rd at the MPSF Championships, clocking a time of 4:18.43 ... Outdoors, Kandie finished in ninth place at the Willie Williams Classic in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:00.99 ... He ran the 1,500-meter run at the Jim Click Shootout, clocking a personal-best time of 4:00.15, good for a 13th-place finish.

HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Iten, Kenya... Kandie had no competitive running experience.

PERSONAL: He is the son of Philip and Anne Kandie ... He has a brother, Kenneth Kandie, and two sisters, Irene and Nancy ... Majoring in pre-engineering.
