TUCSON - The University of Arizona Wildcat No. 10 men's and No. 13 women's track and field teams completed competition at the New Mexico Classic on Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M. The meet took place at the Albuquerque Convention Center Track. The Wildcats earned one first-place finish on Saturday and set a personal-best mark.

In the women’s shot put, senior Julie Labonté earned a first-place finish with a season-best mark of 56-10.25 (17.33m). Junior Alyssa Hasslen came in second place, posting a mark of 55-4.75 (16.88m), the second-best toss of his career. Sophomore Baillie Gibson’s mark of 50-11 (15.52m) was good for third place. Senior Omotayo Talabi earned a fourth-place finish with a toss of 50-2.75 (15.31m).

For the women’s 60-meter sprint, junior Germe Poston clocked a time of 7.55, which was the second-fastest of her career at the time. That time was good for fifth place overall and a spot in the final. Junior Shapri Romero also advanced to the final, clocking a time of 7.66 and finishing in eighth place. Poston’s time of 7.46 in the final was a personal best and good for third place. Romero came in eighth place and ran 7.76.
