UA Women No. 22 In Capital One Cup Fall Standings

 TUCSON -  The Capital One Cup official standings have been announced and Arizona is currently ranked 22nd in the Capital One Cup women's standings with 5 points due to top 10 performances in cross country. The Capital One Cup is an NCAA athletics award honoring the top men's and women's college athletics program in the country.

At the NCAA Cross Country Championships, The UA women's tally of 263 points was good for sixth place; the best overall finish since 2001 when the UA women took fourth place. Junior Elvin Kibet led the way for the women, finishing in 19th place in the 6,000-meter race with a time of 20:03.3, earning All-America honors. Senior Jen Bergman clocked a time of 20:07.9 and finished in 29th place, earning All-America accolades for the second-straight year.
