TUCSON - The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) released the week one national poll on Tuesday. The University of Arizona men's track and field team fell four spots to No. 13 while the women's team remained at No. 12.
Arizona will compete against a stacked field in the Razorback Invitational on January 25-26 in Fayetteville, Ark. The host school, University of Arkansas is ranked No. 1 in the country on the men's side and No. 5 for the women. Baylor's women's squad is ranked No. 17. Florida's men are ranked third and the women are seventh. Florida State's men sit at the No. 21 spot. Georgia's women are ranked 16th in the country. The women's team at Nebraska sits at No. 23. Texas is ranked 11th on the men's side and 13th on the women's side.
Four other Pac-12 schools join the Arizona men in the national poll. From the preseason poll, Arizona State moved up two spots to fourth, Oregon is still ranked fifth, Stanford fell three spots to 18th and UCLA slid one spot to 20th.
On the women's side, Arizona is also accompanied by four other Pac-12 schools. Oregon is still No. 3, Washington climbed two spots to No. 8, California dropped two spots to No. 11 and Stanford fell one spot to No. 14.
