Cross Country Women Climb to No. 12 In Latest Poll
In the latest national poll, the women's cross country team moved up to the No. 12 spot.

TUCSON - The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) released the week one regional and national polls on Tuesday. The Arizona Wildcat women's cross country squad is now ranked No. 12 in the national poll.
After finishing in third place at the George Kyte Classic, the women's team climbed two spots in the national poll, sitting at No. 12. They are joined by four other Pac-12 schools in the national poll. Washington climbed a spot to No. 1, Oregon dropped one spot to No. 2, Stanford remained No. 8 in the country and Colorado fell three spots to No. 16.
In the NCAA West Region, the UA women sit at No. 4. Oregon is first, Washington is second, Stanford is third, Arizona State is eighth, California is ninth and Oregon State is 11th. Colorado is No. 3 in the NCAA Mountain region and Utah is No. 6.
On the men's side, the Pac-12 has five teams in the national poll. Colorado is No. 5, Stanford is No. 9, Oregon is No. 22, Washington State is No. 26 and UCLA is No. 29. In the NCAA West Region, the UA men are No. 8. Portland is first in the west region, Stanford is second, UCLA is third, Oregon is fourth, California is fifth, Washington State is sixth, Arizona State is seventh and Washington is 10th. Colorado is No. 3 in the mountain region.
The men's and women's squad will return to action on Friday to host the Dave Murray Invitational. The meet will be held at Del Urich Golf Course with the women running three miles at 5 p.m. MST and the men running 4.25 miles at 5:45 p.m.
