XC Women Remain No. 12 in National Poll

 TUCSON -  University of Arizona Wildcat men's and women's cross country teams both earned first-place finishes at last week's Dave Murray Invitational. In the latest polls from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA), the women's squad remained No. 12 in the national poll. The men's squad climbed one spot in the NCAA West Region to No. 7.

The women's squad is joined by four other Pac-12 teams in the national poll. Washington is still No. 1, Oregon fell one spot to No. 3, Stanford climbed two spots to No. 6 and Colorado fell one spot to No. 17.

In the NCAA West Region, the women's squad stayed at No. 4. Washington climbed up to No. 1, Oregon fell one place to No. 2, Stanford is No. 3, Arizona State is No. 8, California is No. 9 and Oregon State fell one spot to No. 12. In the NCAA Mountain Region, Colorado is No. 3 and Utah is No. 6.

On the men's side, five Pac-12 schools are in the national poll. Colorado dropped one spot to sixth, Stanford remained ninth, Oregon fell three spots to 25th, UCLA climbed two spots to 27th and Washington State fell two spots to 28th.

For the men in NCAA West Region, Stanford is second, UCLA is third, Oregon is fourth, California is fifth, Washington State is sixth, Arizona State fell one spot to eighth and Washington is 10th. Colorado is No. 3 in the NCAA Mountain Region.

The Wildcats will return to action at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on September 29 in Louisville, Ky.
