Track Set To Host All-Comers Meet

TUCSON - The University of Arizona Wildcat men's and women's track and field teams will host the All-Comers meet on Sat., Dec. 10 at Roy P. Drachman Stadium. The meet will begin at 9 a.m. The entire Arizona men's and women's team has been split into three separate teams, each team was chosen based on a draft process.

The red team is led by two-time shot put national champion, junior Julie Labonté, senior All-American Stephen Sambu, and 2011 Pac-10 high jump champion, junior Nick Ross. On Saturday, Labonté will compete in the shot put, Sambu will run the 1,000 meters and 3,000 meters and Ross will compete in the 60-meter hurdles, the pole vault, the javelin, the long jump, triple jump and high jump.

The white team is led by two-time high jump national champion, junior Brigetta Barrett, All-American in the 1,500 meters, senior Abdi Hassan and Georganne Moline, a member of the record setting indoor and outdoor 4x400 relay teams. Barrett will compete in the 60-meter dash, high jump, 150 meters and the 4x300-meter relay team. Moline will compete in the 60-meter hurdles, 150-meter sprint, 250-meter hurdles and the 4x300 relay team. Hassan will run the 600 meters, 1,000 meters and the 4x300 relay team.

The blue team is highlighted by discus All-American, sophomore Baillie Gibson, All-American in the shot put, sophomore Bozidar Antunovic, 2011 MPSF Champion in the high jump, Edgar Rivera-Morales, All-American in the 10K, junior Jen Bergman and a 5K All-American, sophomore Lawi Lalang. Gibson will throw the discus, shot put and hammer. Rivera-Morales will participate in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. Bergman will run the 3,000 meters and as a member of the 4x300 relay team. Lalang will run the 1,000 meters and 3,000 meters.
