MORE GRADUATES TO RECOGNIZE
Last week I recognized our student-athletes who recently graduated from the University of Arizona. I also want to send a special message to our Athletics Department interns who walked in commencement ceremonies last weekend. Congratulations to Joe Longacre (graduate assistant and football letterman), Victor Yates (development intern and football letterman), Conor Comp (development intern), and Londown Owen (former cheerleader and Hall of Champions intern). Thanks for everything you do!
NOTES OF EXCELLENCE
Senior Ben Grado and sophomore Samantha Pickens, members of the diving team, are currently competing at the U.S. Diving Winter National Championships, under the direction of new diving head coach Omar Ojeda. You can check www.divemeets.com or ArizonaWildcats.com for score updates and a complete meet recap.
Women's basketball, under fourth-year head coach Niya Butts, is off to the best start in program history (9-1) since 1999-2000 season. The Cats are 5-0 on the road and 3-0 at home. They are currently playing New Mexico in McKale Center and end the non-conference slate with a 7 p.m. game vs. UNLV on Wed., Dec. 28. Please come out to show your support.
THE BEAR DOWN BUZZ - "MY ACCOUNT MANAGER" FEATURE
The Bear Down Buzz is usually a monthly benefit for Wildcat Club members only but we would like to share this month's segment with everyone. This month's episode is a fun tutorial with Wilbur on using your "My Account Manager" feature on www.ArizonaWildcats.com This is a useful tool for you to view ALL of your account information online. You can edit your personal information, view priority points, buy/transfer tickets, and make donations all online. Click here to check out the tutorial.
For those of you who are not Wildcat Club members and would like to join "The Movement", click here to become a member now to receive this benefit.
Please join us for a couple of events in the next few weeks -- women's basketball tonight (right now, in fact), men's basketball tomorrow vs. Bryant at 5pm, women's basketball next Wednesday (Dec. 28) vs. UNLV, and men's basketball Dec. 31 against ASU for a State Farm Territorial Cup half-point. Too, if you're in Tempe, follow our women's hoops team at ASU on the 31st. Otherwise, keep abreast of Wildcat news developments atwww.arizonawildcats.com and on our Facebook page.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND NEW YEAR
We have much to be thankful for and in our case, it's you. Thank you very much for your continued support, generosity and for being a part of our Wildcat family. The Wildcat Wednesday will take a short break next week (Dec. 28) and will return to the normal schedule on Jan. 4. I wish you Happy Holidays and Happy New Year, and leave you with some holiday cheer from our men's and women's basketball teams and a photo slideshow recapping our fall season...
Below, proud corporate sponsor Sullivan's Steakhouse leaves no doubt they are part of Wildcat Country. We thank them for their support and showing the colors. We want to see every business in Southern Arizona (and the state) show their Wildcat pride and spirit, and in an upcoming Wildcat Wednesday we'll share with you some ideas on how to do so.
Continue to do what you can to help Arizona Athletics and:
- Join the Wildcat Movement
- Buy Season Tickets
- Wear the Colors (Especially on Friday)
- Get Others to Do the Same
