Liana Fuentes and Austen Thompson

2012 Arizona A-Club Finish Line Scholarship Recipients

The Arizona A-Club would like to congratulate Liana Fuentes and Austen Thompson for earning A-Club Finish Line Scholarship.  The Arizona A-Club awards two $1000 scholarships every fall to Arizona student-athletes who have finished their eligibility and are within one year of graduating.  These scholarships are made possible by donations made to the Arizona A-Club Endowment by former Arizona Letterwinners.

Liana Fuentes is a native of Cypress California and a letterwinner for the Arizona Women's Track & Field team. Her personal bests are 100mh: 14.69 200 meter 25.43 Long jump: 17' 8.75" High Jump:1.62m SP:12.15m Javelin: 39.63m 800 meter: 2:33.16 Heptathlon: 4949. Liana will graduate with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy; she is planning for a career in Psychiatry or Sports Psychology.

Austen Thompson is from Chandler, AZ and is a four year letterwinner for the Arizona Men's Swimming and Diving Team. At the 2012 Olympic Trials Austen finished 10^th in the 200m IM semifinals. He has earned four All-American honors and has been named to the Pac-10/12All-Academic team three times. Austen is majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology.

The Arizona A-Club and Arizona Letterwinners everywhere are proud of all the accomplishments made by Liana and Austen. We wish both of you the best of luck in the future...Bear Down!
