TUCSON - Arizona Athletics has announced several promotions to help fans get fired up about Arizona Baseball while staying cool and hydrated at the games. A "Weekend White Out" has been called for the Super Regional series vs. St. John's which begins Friday, June 8, at 12 p.m. at Hi Corbett Field. Fans are encouraged to wear white to every game to help reflect the sun and to show unity for the Wildcats. Free white t-shirts will be distributed to the first 500 fans at the gates.
"We know our fans are used to the temperatures that the summer brings, but we also know they will be at Hi Corbett in force this weekend," said Director of Athletics Greg Byrne. "We want to encourage everyone to drink plenty of water and wear white shirts to show unity and support for our baseball program and university."
A cooling station will be set up on the east concourse (located behind the third base side) with complimentary water, ice towels, and sunscreen (while supplies last). The cooling station will be open when gates open (90 minutes prior to first pitch) and remain open throughout the course of the game. Fans are permitted to bring their own water bottles and can refill their bottles at the cooling station. Fans cannot bring coolers. Personal size umbrellas are also permitted, but fans are asked to be considerate of others around them by not blocking the view of fellow spectators.
ZonaZoo Ticket Special
The ZonaZoo was a big part of creating a home field advantage at Hi Corbett Field during the Wildcats regular-season. Though most students are out of town for the summer, Arizona Athletics would like to offer a special discount to students who are still in Tucson or a nearby town. Students can purchase general admission tickets for any of the three games for only $5, a 50% discount. This is not a sanctioned Arizona Athletics home event, therefore Arizona Athletics will be covering the difference in ticket price. To take advantage of this special offer, students must purchase their tickets in person at the McKale Ticket Office or the Hi Corbett Field Box Office and present their University of Arizona Cat Card. One ticket per game, per Cat Card. This special offer is available starting Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
Need a note to get out of work early and head to the Super Regional? Head coach Andy Lopez and Director of Athletics are providing excuse notes on ArizonaWildcats.com (for web - Click here to print excuse note). Fans can print them and give them to their boss to get the afternoon off.
All-session reserved tickets sold out Wednesday morning. All-session general admission tickets are $18 and are still available online at ArizonaWildcats.com, over the phone by calling 520-621-CATS, or in person at the McKale Ticket Office during normal business hours. Single-session general admission tickets are now on sale at ArizonaWildcats.com. They are also available by phone or in person. Fans purchasing single-session tickets are strongly encouraged to buy online and select the "print-at-home" option. Please note, the McKale Ticket Office will be closed on Friday due to the noon start of the Super Regional. The Hi Corbett Field Box Office will open two hours prior to each game.
