Miller's administrative staff now features two former NCAA D-I players

2012 Mountain West Conference defensive player of the year JayDee Luster is the newest member of the Arizona basketball support staff, joining the program in August 2012 as a graduate manager.

Luster will aid the coaching staff in player and team workouts in addition to various operational and video responsibilities while he pursues a postgraduate degree.

A three-year starter as a point guard for the University of Wyoming, Luster was the Mountain West Conference defensive player of the year, a member of the league's all-defensive team and an honorable mention all-conference selection in 2011-12. He guided the Cowboys to a 21-12 record last season and a berth in the College Basketball Invitational. All told, it was Wyoming's first 20-win season since 2002-03 and the program's first postseason appearance in four years.

Luster averaged 5.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in 33 appearances (32 starts) as a senior. He ranked 32nd nationally with a 2.35 assist:turnover ratio and ranked sixth in the Mountain West in assists. Four of his 12 double-figure scoring games came in 2011-12, including a career-high 18 points on Dec. 13 vs. UC-Irvine. He passed out a career high of 11 assists on Nov. 18, 2009, against Peru State.

Over his three seasons in Laramie (2008-12), Luster averaged 5.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in 90 appearances. He capped his career ranked eighth on UW's all-time assist list with 344 and ranked 14th with 81 starts.

He also played one season (2007-08) at New Mexico State.

Originally from San Diego, Calif., Luster earned degrees in social science and criminal justice from Wyoming in 2012. He attended Hoover High School and played for Coach Ollie Goulston, the same as current Wildcat forward Angelo Chol.
