Murray joins the Wildcat support staff after spending 2008-09 as the assistant coach at Post University in Waterbury, Conn., where he helped the Eagles to a 17-10 record. While a member of the NCAA Division II institution's coaching staff, Murray's responsibilities included recruiting, practice planning, scheduling and travel. Prior to his tenure at Post, Murray served one season as the men's basketball operations intern at Quinnipiac University. The first to hold the position at that school, his duties with the program included film exchange, coordinating team travel and on-campus recruiting. Murray has extensive AAU coaching experience with several 17- and 16-and under basketball programs, including the New England Playaz and the New York Gauchos, where he worked with current Arizona assistant coach "Book" Richardson. Several athletes who played for Murray have gone on to play at prominent NCAA Division I programs, including Boston College, Connecticut, Memphis, Michigan, Seton Hall and West Virginia. Murray is a 2007 graduate of Fairfield University with a bachelor's degree in sociology. He attended St. Luke's High School in New Canaan, Conn., where he was a two-sport athlete in football and basketball. Murray returned to serve as an assistant boys' basketball coach at his alma mater, leading the team to the 2004-05 New England Class D Championship.
