A good student, he was a member of the All-Academic first team for San Diego county... Led his team to a 26-4 record as a senior, 25-5 as a junior and 28-3 as a sophomore... Team went undefeated in conference play during his three years (42-0)... Was University High School’s Athlete of the Year as senior...
