Arizona Head Coach Sean Miller
"I thought our crowd especially in the last twelve minutes didn't give up. Sometimes with crowds people leave the game or are disenchanted that we could lose a home game and leave. One of the great things about the McKale crowd is that they stay until the finish. There was also some good fortune to this. Last year we were at the hands of fortune, not always at the good end including two games against Colorado where they were able to win at the very end. I give Colorado a lot of credit. If we would have lost tonight it would not have been about us it would have been about playing against a team that made ten three-point shots and had a number of guys that made plays. Their freshmen did an unbelievable job. When you're a good team like Colorado, you can do well on the road in conference play. We were very fortunate to leave this game with a win. If we would have lost, we would have been very proud of our effort although we did not play well."
On Colorado's successful defense:
"Sometimes a score comes after the seventh pass and not the fourth. We've been spoiled during the first 12 games of the season. We've scored a lot of points in the first three passes of a play. Tonight Colorado was a tremendous defensive team and they defended us very well. All of a sudden we were taking fast shots and turning the ball over. It was an issue. That is a lesson we have learned. If we play that way going forward, it's not going to look good. At the end of the day our offense rallied. We shot 43 percent. One thing we did do is make our free throws. As a team, we need to adjust and share the ball."
On senior Kevin Parrom:
"Kevin Parrom is outstanding. It's hard for us to keep him off the floor. He had 16 points and eight rebounds. He was the one guy that played an excellent game from start to finish even in the first half. It was great to see."
On outrebounding Colorado:
"We did rebound well. At times it didn't feel that way. We started off playing small and that's the thing with playing small, sometimes it looks better than it is. We have a delicate balance between playing small and big. We are able to match up better when we adjust and look at the big picture."
On three-point shot reviewed by officials at end of regulation:
"I was going to be good with either call. Obviously, I wanted to win. Colorado outplayed us for most of the game. Sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it doesn't. Because it banked in and knowing they didn't call it, I felt like the basketball Gods weigh in on something like that."
Arizona Players' Postgame Quotes
Sophomore Guard Nick Johnson
On the outcome of the game:
"It was a rough game all night but we stuck with it and people made plays at the end."
On Colorado's defense:
"We missed some good looks but they game planned for us and there is a little more familiarity there since we are in conference play now. They know our plays and we just have to work through that. But really, we need to play better defense."
On this year's team and the season overall:
"We have a great group of guys but we can get a lot better. We've escaped with some tough wins but we're going to go back to practice and get better.
Senior Guard Mark Lyons
On outcome of the game:
"Credit to them, they are a great team but we stuck with it."
On confidence once the game reached overtime:
"Everybody in the gym knew we were going to win. When the home team comes back, they usually win."
On free throws at the end of regulation:
"I wasn't nervous; Kevin came up to me and said `you already know you're making both of these.' I mean, I can be nervous but if my teammates have confidence in me, then I'll get it done. I thought I lost the game for us when I turned the ball over late, but I stuck with it and my teammates stuck with it. Good players make adjustments."
On Nick Johnson's defense:
"I think Nick Johnson is the best defender in the country."
Senior Forward Kevin Parrom
On team never giving up:
"We have a bunch of guys that want to win and will do anything to win. I love these guys, these guys are my family, I love going to war with them. I love that I can look into each of their eyes and know that they expect to win. Even the young guys, they know we're going to win."
On making it to overtime:
"I knew once we got to overtime the game was over."
On team's "luck" thus far:
"We're getting lucky right now but it won't be there forever. We can't get in deep holes, we have to start better."
