TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona men's basketball signee Kaleb Tarczewski was named to the 2012 USA Basketball Men's Junior National Select Team and will participate in this year's Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Ore.

Tarczewski, a 7-foot, 220-pound center from Claremont, N.H., helped St. Mark's School of Southborough, Mass., to a 28-2 record this season and was named Most Valuable Player of the Independent School League.

Tarczewski (Tar-ZOO-Ski) was one of 10 players aged 19-years-old or younger, to represent the United States in the 2012 Nike Hoop Summit. The U.S. team will face an international squad made of 11 players representing nine different countries.

Tarczewski is the fifth Arizona signee to participate in the Nike Hoop Summit, joining Loren Woods (1996), Mike Bibby (1996), J.P. Prince (2005) and Jerryd Bayless (2007).

The contest, which showcases America's top high school seniors, will take place on Saturday, April 7, at the Rose Garden. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. PDT.
