TUCSON--Ticket sales continue to rise for the Oct. 21 McDonald's Red-Blue basketball game, and with more than two weeks to go Arizona Athletics has sold more than 8,000 tickets to 14,545 seat McKale Center for the event.
Starting Friday (Oct. 5), McDonald's will provide a special ticket offer to customers at participating restaurants. Fans can receive a voucher with a special ticket discount promo code when making a food or beverage purchase at participating McDonald's restaurants in the Tucson area and select outer market locations (such as Benson, Douglas, Green Valley, Marana, Oro Valley, Sahuarita, Sierra Vista and Willcox.) Vouchers will be available while supplies last. The offer is available at 39 outlets in the Tucson area alone and these listed restaurants.
Tickets are only $4 each when entering the promo code on the ArizonaWildcats.com ticket purchase page. Regular online fees apply. The discount is only available for online transactions. Regular ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for kids for advance purchases. Tickets purchased on the day of the game will be $10 for adults and $7 for kids. All seats are general admission.
The 2011 UA men's basketball Red-Blue game sold out on Oct. 20, two days before the game. This year's ticket sales are ahead of last year's pace, so fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets soon.
Highlighting this year's game is a reunion of the 1987-88 men's basketball team. The 25th anniversary of its Final Four appearance, the first in the program's history, will be celebrated. Scheduled to appear from that team include head coach Lute Olson, Craig Bergman, Jud Buechler, Anthony Cook, Sean Elliott, Steve Kerr, Kenny Lofton, Harvey Mason, Craig McMillan, Matt Muehlebach, Sean Rooks, Tom Tolbert, Joe Turner and manager Eric Meyer.
The game will begin at 2 p.m. MST. Fans should be aware that Arizona volleyball hosts Oregon State at 11 a.m. Arena doors will open at 10 a.m. and any fans with a McDonald's Red-Blue game ticket can enter the building at that time and support Wildcat volleyball as well.
