Dan Buckner and
Terrence Miller, members of the University of Arizona Wildcat football team, have been named to the 2012 College Football Performance Awards watch lists, it was announced by the association on Monday.
Buckner, a native of Allen, Texas, was named to the 2012 CFPA Wide Receiver Trophy Watch List. Expected to challenge as one of the league's top performers on the outside as fifth-year senior in 2012, he logged one formation start in 12 games played in 2011. Buckner finished with 42 catches for 606 yards and two touchdowns. He recorded an Arizona career-best 10 receptions for 142 yards and a score at Oklahoma State for an introduction in his second game. Later, he had career-best 144 yards and a TD on eight catches at Oregon State. He was added to the Biletnikoff Award watch list early in the 2011 season. He transferred from the University of Texas and enrolled at UA in January 2010 and redshirted the 2010 season.
Miller, a native of Moreno Valley, Calif., was named to the 2012 CFPA Tight End Trophy Watch List. His 30 games of experience put Miller squarely in line for a key role in 2012. He stacked up behind senior inside receivers in 2011 and caught 11 balls for 136 yards, with season highs of 4-44 at Colorado and 4-54 against Louisiana. Miller emerged as a key threat in 2010, highlighted by a seven-catch, 116-yard outing against USC, followed by career-best eight snares, with 96 yards at Oregon.
