TUCSON, Ariz. - The inaugural Pac-12 football season is still more than five weeks away, but the countdown to kickoff officially begins this week as the annual conference media functions begin in earnest, first in Los Angeles before skipping across to the east coast.

Arizona Head Coach Mike Stoops and senior quarterback Nick Foles will represent the Wildcats at various stops. The three-day media blitz for Stoops, Foles and their counterparts begins on Tuesday, July 26, in Los Angeles for Pac-12 Football Media Day.

In L.A., each Pac-12 institution will be represented by its head football coach and a leading returning student-athlete. Each will have the opportunity to address media members from around the country. Additionally, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott will be on hand to address the media, as well as open the day's events with a new Pac-12 video that looks forward to the 2011 Pac-12 Football season.

Starting at 9 a.m. PT, a free live video stream of Tuesday's Pac-12 Football Media Day will be available on www.pac-12.org. Video featuring a player and coach from each of the Pac-12 teams will be posted on www.pac-12.org for on-demand viewing throughout the day on Tuesday.

At the conclusion of the events in Los Angeles, Stoops and the other 11 league coaches will join the Commissioner and head to New York City and Bristol, Conn., for the second part of the media tour. Coaches will have the opportunity to address east coast media and will visit the ESPN campus for additional media opportunities.

Stoops and the other five Pac-12 South coaches will begin the east coast swing with a trip through the ESPN "Car Wash" in Bristol, Conn, on Wednesday, July 27. On the agenda for Stoops will be various interviews and appearances, including scheduled live appearances on First Take (10:20 a.m. EDT) and SportsCenter (11:40 a.m. EDT).

The next day, Stoops and the Pac-12 South contingent will head to New York City for more interviews and appearances, wrapping up a frenzied three-day bicoastal media tour to preview the 2011 Pac-12 Football campaign.

Arizona will begin its preseason camp on Thursday, August 4. Newcomers will officially report on Tuesday, August 2, while veterans do so on Wednesday, August 3.
