TUCSON, Ariz. - A new season and a new era of Arizona Football is set to begin later this week when the Wildcats open their annual fall camp. Head coach Rich Rodriguez and his charges open the month with reporting day on Wednesday, followed by the first practice of the preseason on Thursday.

Arizona players completed their summer workout programs last week in advance of the first official team workouts that commence with Thursday's practice. The Wildcats will practice six times in Tucson before heading to Fort Huachuca for four days, something the program has done each year since 2008. Thereafter, the team returns to campus for another week of practices prior to the start of classes on Monday, Aug. 20.

Practices on campus this year will be held at Jerry Kindall Field at Frank Sancet Stadium, the former home of the four-time national champion Arizona Wildcat baseball program. The Wildcats' baseball team moved out of the facility in January to their new home at Hi Corbett Field, allowing the field to be sodded and configured for football practices. During camp, the Wildcat football team will continue to have the option to use the Jimenez Practice Facility, which is located a home run over the left field fence from Kindall/Sancet.

Arizona opens its 2012 season on Saturday, Sept. 1, against Toledo to mark the first of three-straight night games to open the season at Arizona Stadium. The Wildcats host eight total home contests this season, including five against Pac-12 foes.
