TUCSON - University of Arizona senior quarterback Matt Scott was named Honorable Mention QB of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards, it was announced late Sunday.
Scott, a native of Corona, Calif., threw for a career-high 387 yards. His 30 completions and 46 attempts each established new career marks, while he his two scores tied his personal best in a game. His 74 rushing yards marked the first time a UA quarterback surpassed 50 net yards since he gained 71 at UCLA in 2010.
The team's 624 yards of total offense rank as the second-most in UA history. The single game record is 691 yards against New Mexico in 1969. UA won its season opener for the fifth-straight season and the ninth time in the last 13 years. UA improved to 76-26-5 all-time in season openers.
