It’s Homecoming Weekend at the University of Arizona! Arizona Athletics would like to welcome back all alumni who will be returning to campus this weekend. We’re excited to have you back in Arizona Stadium this Saturday. Make sure to visit UAHomecoming.com for details on all the activities taking place this weekend. Due to some of these Homecoming activities, specifically the parade, tailgating and some parking will be affected. Please continue to read for more information:
Due to the Homecoming Parade which is set to begin at 8:00 a.m., access to the lawn tailgate areas from Cherry Ave will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to the conclusion of the Wildcat Walk at approximately 9:45 a.m.
On a space available basis only: A limited number of tailgate permit vehicles can access Gittings Lawn and the east center mall (no McKale Lawn access) from the north side of University Blvd from Campbell Ave from 7:45 a.m. to the conclusion of the Wildcat Walk at approximately 9:45 a.m.
In order to avoid traffic congestion and ensure the best possible tailgate space on the UA mall, we highly recommend arriving to the tailgate grounds before the hard closure of Cherry Ave. begins at 7:30 a.m.
RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY
Unfortunately there is a chance of rain Saturday morning. If it does rain, the UA mall will not be open for tailgating and parking and the following procedures will be taken:
Vehicles will be parked around the center strip of the UA mall along the curb until capacity is reached. However, due to the Homecoming Parade, parking will not be available on the south side of University Blvd until approx. 9:30am.
On a limited basis, reserved spaces are available in overflow lots around campus. These spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Once our overflow lots are at capacity, it will be up to the tailgate vehicles to find their own parking off campus or in other non-tailgating lots and garages around campus.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate everybody’s need for parking if inclement weather persists. Please refer to the policies listed on the back of your tailgate pass regarding inclement weather.
There are no refunds for tailgating parking passes. Make sure to follow Arizona Athletics’Facebook and Twitterpages for up-to-date information.
