TUCSON
, Ariz. - ESPN College GameDay has confirmed it will produce its weekly college football preview show from the campus of The University of Arizona on Saturday morning preceding the Pac-10 showdown between the Wildcats and the No. 11 Oregon Ducks.

Kickoff for the football game, which will be televised in a split-national broadcast on ABC, is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Arizona Stadium.

The premier college football pre-game show, which has aired weekly on ESPN since its inception in 1989, will make its first-ever appearance in Tucson. Earlier this season, GameDay visited Eugene, Ore., for the Ducks' clash with the Trojans on Halloween weekend.

The program features hosts Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard, and will air live from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. (MST). The show began producing the telecast from college campuses around the country in 1993.

Details surrounding the exact site of the production will be released early this week, with the general public encouraged to be part of the production free of charge.

Saturday's home finale for the Wildcats figures to be one of the most important late-season games at Arizona Stadium in over a decade. The Wildcats remain one game behind the Ducks in the loss column in the race for the Pac-10 Championship and potential Rose Bowl berth.

Arizona officials have announced that Saturday's game will be a "Red Out" at Arizona Stadium. All Wildcat fans are highly encouraged to wear red to the GameDay grounds in the morning and then to the game in the evening. UA players are expected to wear red uniforms and 10,000 red rally towels will be distributed to the Zona Zoo student section.

"When we take the field, we want to see a sea of red," junior running back Nic Grigsby said. "We want to be wearing red on the field and we want every seat in the stadium to be filled with people wearing red."

The Wildcats, who have won 12 of their last 14 games at Arizona Stadium, have one of the toughest game-day environments in the conference this season. Arizona is 5-0 at home and is seeking just its third 6-0 home record in school history. Previously, the 1961 and 1993 teams finished with perfect 6-0 marks.

Fan support of Arizona football has surged in recent seasons under head coach Mike Stoops, who has a career record of 21-17 in home games. Four of UA's top-six season-per-game average attendance figures have come in the last four seasons.

More information about the GameDay production will be released as details become final early this week.
