TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona’s men’s golf team will head to Fresno on Mar. 4-5 to compete in the Fresno State Lexus Classic, a two-day, seventeen-team event.
Fresno State is the host-school for the tournament, which will be played at Belmont Country Club, a par-72, 6,570-yard course. Thirty-six holes will be played on day one of the tournament with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. PST, with the second round following immediately after the first. The final eighteen holes will be played on the second day starting at 7:30 a.m. PST as well.
The seventeen-team field is made up of Arizona, BYU, California, Cal Poly, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Irvine, Kansas State, Nevada, Northwestern, Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, Sacramento State, Santa Barbara, and Utah.
Last year, the Wildcats finished in fifth place at the Fresno State Lexus Classic. Juan Pablo Hernandez led the Wildcats last year at the event with a seventh place finish by scoring a 216 (E). Trent Redfern also had a top-20 finish by finishing in a tie for fourteenth place, scoring a 219 (+3).
Arizona’s lineup includes Juan Pablo Hernandez, Trent Redfern, Benson Liu, Brenden Redfern, Dylan Healey, and Erik Oja.
The last time out, Arizona finished in a tie for fourth place as a team in the John A. Burns Intercollegiate. Erik Oja finished in a tie for fifth with a score of 215 (+1). Brendon Redfern earned a tie for seventeenth place with a score of 223 (+7) as well.
