TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's golf team closes the fall portion of the 2012-13 season beginning Sunday at the Lone Star Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
The Wildcats have a runner-up finish to its credit this fall and enter the Lone Star Invitational after posting its low tournament total of the fall, Oct. 8-9, at the Pac-12 Preview. This event marks Arizona's third tournament in the last 17 days.
The Lone Star Invitational is scheduled for Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 14-16, at Hill Country Resort Golf Club, a par-72, 6,931-yard facility. Eighteen holes will be played each day with tee times off Nos. 1 and 10 beginning at 8:30 a.m. CDT on Sunday and Monday and an 8 a.m. shotgun start for Tuesday's final round.
The Wildcats are part of a 14-team field that also includes Central Arkansas, Denver, Houston, Houston Baptist, Illinois State, New Mexico State, North Texas, Rice, Southern Miss, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, Utah Valley and host UTSA.
Arizona's lineup includes Erik Oja, Trent Redfern, Dylan Healey, Alex McMahon and Brenden Redfern. Additionally, Tucker Wadkins will be competing as an individual.
Oja, McMahon and Trent Redfern each have posted at least one top-20 finish or better in UA's last two events. In fact, Redfern played the final 36 holes of the Pac-12 Preview at seven-under par, en route to a career low 214 (-2) tournament total.
