On 2009-10 season:For the 2009/10 season I am looking forward to how close together our team comes. The collegiate season is always my favorite time of year because the whole team is training together towards one common goal; to do as well as possible at NCAA's. It is an amazing feeling being a part of this extremely strong unit and I always feel that anything is possible when our team comes together as one. If you add the fact that the team was disappointed with our performance at NCAAs last year and also that we are graduating one of the best and biggest classes in Arizona history this year, it all makes for a very exciting year ahead.

What I've learned at Arizona: While at Arizona I have learned a tremendous amount about swimming but also about life in general. However, I think the most powerful thing that I have learned is how amazing it is to swim for something greater than yourself. I know that everyone on our team does not only compete for themselves but for the Wildcat team, their families and our coaches. When this is your mentality towards racing and even practices it is impossible not to give 100% all of the time. These are people that have been our support system through all the ups and downs we have experienced in our swimming careers and we honor them by swimming as fast as we can.

Favorite sports star: Rafael Nadal - he is a fighter in every sense of the word and never ever gives up.

Role Model: Lance Armstrong - never before has someone dominated a sport like him, and to do that after recovering from cancer is simply the most inspiring thing in the world to me.

Favorite quote: Never give up.

Favorite book: The Secret.

Whats on my ipod: A lot of Rap. Also a variety of techno from pump up songs to more chilled out house music from the homeland, South Africa.

National Teams:
South African Team - World Championships Montreal 2005
Commonwealth Games Melbourne 2006
South African Team - World Championships Melbourne 2007
Olympic Games Beijing 2008

South African Team - World Championships Rome 2009
