Men's 3m Results Get Acrobat Reader

TUCSON, Ariz. Rafael Quintero and Samantha Pickens each earned victories for the Wildcats to keep the momentum going on day two of the Bruin Diving Invitational held at the Spieker Aquatics Center on Saturday.

Quintero followed up his first place finish in the 1m yesterday with a dominant victory in the 3m this afternoon. The freshman from Rio Grande, Puerto Rico recorded 739.90 points to defeat Noah Garcia of Stanford by more than 50 points. Quintero already has seven first-place finishes this season.

Meanwhile, Samantha Pickens is returning to form after an injury as she took top honors in the 1m on Saturday with a total score of 575.95. Pickens outscored Lindsay Lester of Miami for the victory. Pickens is coming off a solid fourth place showing yesterday in the 3m.

Other top Arizona finishers on the day included Josh Bidak, who placed fourth in the 3m with a score of 632.00 and Carter Craft, who finished in eighth with a score of 599.90. Sean Clark also advanced to the finals by coming in 13th with a score of 480.35.

Meanwhile, on the women’s side, Ashley Herrera came away with a seventh place finish in the 1m with a 496.60 total.

The three-day meet will come to a close tomorrow with both the men and women’s platform championships. The action will get started with preliminaries beginning at 9:30 a.m.
