TUCSON, Ariz. -

Senior swimmer Cory Chitwood (Union, Ky.) was named a Counsilman Huntsman Swimmer of the Week, collegeswimming.com announced on Wednesday.

Chitwood joined five other men’s and women’s swimmers from Denison University, Stevens Institute, Grand Valley State University and Ashland University.

Last week at the Texas Invite, Chitwood, a two-time defending national champion had two individual wins in the 200 IM and the 200 back, posting NCAA “A” cuts on both races. He also assisted on the winning 400 medley relay, which also posted an “A” cut.

All three of Chitwood’s times reign as the fastest times in the country.
