ARIZONA

2010: One of the most talented mid-distance runners for Arizona Track and Field, Hassan managed to qualify for the NCAA Championships Outdoors as well as adding an Indoor appearance to his resume. Finished 10th at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the mile at the University of Arkansas and at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, Hassan finished 10th placed in his preliminary heat missing the final. Also recorded personal bests in the 800m with a 1:48.23 in the prelims of the Pac-10 championships at Cal-Berkeley as well as a Mile personal best running 3:58.50 indoors at UW Husky Classic.

2009:Arguably the best newcomer for the Wildcats of the 2009 season...Hassan set the Arizona freshman record in the 1500-meters twice during his first season...His time of 3:43.54 at the Mt. Sac relays took over the 23- year old record held by John Quade and qualified him for the NCAA West Regionals... There, he earned a spot at the NCAA National Championships by finishing fourth and beating his own record in a time of 3:42.04...Also earned All-Conference honors with his fifth place finish at the Pac-10 Championships...Was a point scoring individual for the UA cross country team and competed sparingly on the squad's 4x400- meter relay.

2008: Redshirted his freshman year...

Nathan Hale High School, Seattle, Wash.: Named Washington State Male Athlete of the Year in 2007 after winning the State Championship in both the 800- and 1600-meter runs ... Time of 1:49 in the 800m in high school ranked No. 2 all-time in the state Washington and No. 3 nationally in 2007... Earned high school All-American honors ...
