2010: Productive year freshman distance runner Jani who was able to run pr's across the board in his freshmen campaign. Set a 400m pb at the Jim Click shootout, 800m pb at the PAC-10 Championships at Cal-Berkely and a 1500m pr at the Willie Williams Classic.

Branham High School, San Jose, Calif.: Jani made an appearance as one of California's elite 800 runners his senior year ranked 15 overall in the state... In 2009 he competed in the 400-, 800- and 1600-meters... Made it to the state meet in the 800-meters after finishing third in the Central Coast Section with a time of 1:55.74...Entering the state meet as a relative unknown, he proved himself with a sixth place finish in the preliminaries with a time of 1:53.63, also a personal best...He also competed in the indoor season going to National Scholastic Indoor Championships where he ran a 1:55.75, a best indoor time and a 11th place overall finish...
