2010: Arrived at Arizona with no competitive running experience under his belt whatsoever out of Eldoret, Kenya - the same as teammate Stephen Sambu. In his very first collegiate race, Lalang finished second in the 3,000-meter run indoors in a time of 7:55.05 to set one of the top times in the country. In his second career race, Lalang ran a sun-four mile in 3:59.13 to also set one of the top marks in the country...

Is the brother of Boaz Lalang, the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championship runner-up at 800-meters and the gold medal winner in the event at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi the same season.
