Head coach Niya Butts and the Arizona women's basketball team will open the Pac-12 Conference season at Washington State on Friday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. PT. The Wildcats will then travel to the University of Washington to play on Sunday, Jan. 6 at 1 p.m. PT.

Arizona wrapped its non-conference slate with three-consecutive wins for an 8-3 record. In their most recent contest, the Wildcats defeated Longwood, 86-68. Senior guard Davellyn Whyte (Phoenix, Ariz.) scored a season-high 25 points, while juniors Kama Griffitts (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho), Erica Barnes (Sacramento, Calif.) and Carissa Crutchfield (Ft. Gibson, Okla.) added 21, 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Crutchfield also added a season-high eight assists and senior Cheshi Poston led the team in rebounding with 11.
Washington State opens its Pac-12 season with a 4-7 non-conference record, including a 4-0 mark at home and win over No. 19 Ohio State. Senior Carly Noyes stands as the Pac-12's active leader in career blocks with 137, while freshman Lia Galdeira leads the team in scoring at 14.5 ppg.
As a team, the Cougar defense is holding opponents to 57.0 ppg and 32.2 percent shooting in four home games this season.
In 2012, Arizona fell to Washington State in Pullman, Wash., but defeated the Cougars 90-51 in Tucson. All-time, the Wildcats lead the series, 32-22 since 1987.
Before hosting Arizona State on Friday, Washington holds an 8-3 record, including a 4-1 mark at home. Sophomore Jazmine Davis leads the team in scoring at 19.5 ppg, while sophomore Aminah Williams leads the Huskies in rebounding with 11.4 rpg.
In 2012, Arizona fell to Washington in both contests and the Huskies lead the all-time series, 35-20.
