Dr. Chalk joined the University of Arizona Athletics Department staff as Assistant Athletics Director for Public Relations and Special Events in November 1997. In June of 2004, she was given added responsibility for overseeing the Jim Click Hall of Champions museum and the student-athlete community outreach programs. In 2010 she was asked by Athletics Director Greg Byrne to move to the development office where she is currently the Associate Athletics Director for Major Gifts and Annual Giving.
She has extensive experience in fund development, public relations, special event planning, college cheerleader and mascot programs, alumni relations, museum management, and community relations. Her current responsibilities included annual giving and major gift solicitations, Wildcat Club operations, Phoenix annual giving efforts, and management of the A-Club Letterwinner’s Association.
Prior to joining the Athletics Department staff, she was the director of the Annual Fund for The University of Arizona Foundation, the fund-raising arm of the University. She held that position for four years and was responsible for the Parent Campaign, Class Reunion Gift Program, direct mail, Telephone Outreach Program and the Faculty/Staff Campaign, all of which generated more than $1.5 million annually for the UA. Preceding that, she was the Assistant Director of the Presidents Club and Annual Fund and was responsible for the cultivation and solicitation of potential donors to the UA as well as an extensive special events calendar.
As a native of Tucson, Dr. Chalk received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Arizona, M.A. from Northern Arizona University, and her B.A. degree from the University of Arizona She has served on numerous non-profit boards and is currently is a member of Angel Charity for Children, Key Group, UA Hispanic Alumni Club, Bank of Tucson Advisory Committee, among others.
