July 20, 2012

TUCSON - Soon-to-be sophomore Kendall Prince will join the University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team as a transfer from Ohio State University, it was announced by head coach Laura Ianello on Friday.

"We're excited for Kendall Prince to join our team," Ianello said. "She's a great addition to the Wildcat family and she brings a lot of experience. She had a successful freshman year and I think she will thrive in our team's environment."

Prince, a native of Lake Oswego, Ore., will join the Wildcats as a sophomore for the 2012-13 season. Spending her freshman season with the Buckeyes, she was the 2012 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, earned second-team All-Big Ten honors and was an NGCA All-America Scholar.

As a prep, Prince won two American Junior Golf Association events, competed in the prestigious Wyndham Cup team event and the U.S. Women's Amateur, and earned second-team All-America honors from the AJGA.

Within her summer competitions, Prince has also qualified for the 112th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. The Country Club in Cleveland, Ohio will host the event Aug. 6-12, 2012.
