W. Golf Tagged Fifth by Golfweek

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona women's golf team has landed a spot in the top five in Golfweek's annual preseason Top 30. The Wildcats start the year where they finished last season; UA finished fifth in the NCAA Championship a season ago. Arizona won the Pac-10 Championship and NCAA West Regional before its solid finish in the NCAA Championship to skyrocket up the charts. Arizona returns all five starters from that squad. The Cats are joined in the top five by two other Pac-10 teams; UCLA and USC are second and third, respectively. Defending national champion Purdue is the preseason favorite. Arizona tees off its fall season Thursday, Sept. 9, in the Topy Cup in Japan.
