W. Golf Set for Stanford Intercollegiate

TUCSON - With two wins under its belt during the fall season, the University of Arizona women's golf team will play next at the Stanford Intercollegiate, Fri.-Sun., Oct. 19-21. The three-round, 54-hole event will be held at the Stanford Golf Course, a par 71, 6,130-yard facility. Rounds on Friday and Saturday will tee at 8:30 a.m. with Sunday's round a TBA start time.
Arizona's lineup includes sophomores Manon Gidali, Kendall Prince and Andrea Vilarasau and freshmen Janie Jackson and Anna Kim. The same lineup won both the Mason Rudolph Championship and the Windy City Collegiate Classic earlier this season.
The Stanford Intercollegiate field of 17 teams includes Arizona, Arizona State, California, Georgia, Harvard, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Jose State, Stanford, Texas, UC Davis, UCLA, USC, Vanderbilt and Washington. Several individuals will also compete.
In the current rankings, Arizona is listed at No. 1 by Golfstat.com (Oct. 17), No. 2 by Golfweek.com (Oct. 15) and No. 5 in the Golf Word/ WGCA Coaches' Poll. The squad holds a stroke average of 73.67 and is led by Gidali's individual 73.50 stroke average.
In late September, the Wildcats opened the season with a win at the Mason Rudolph Championship behind a tied for second-place finish from Prince. With a seventh-place finish, Jackson led the Cats to a win at the Windy City Collegiate in early October.
