TUCSON - Head coach Laura Ianello and the University of Arizona women's golf team announced the addition of National Letter of Intent signee Jessica Vasilic to the squad for the 2013-14 season. A native of Sweden but raised in Anaheim Hill, Calif., Vasilic will join the team as a true freshman next fall.

A native of Sweden, Vasilic moved to the U.S. when she was four. She is ranked No. 13 overall by Golfweek.com in the signing class of 2013. A regular on the U.S. amateur scene, she has a career low round of 66 which she shot to lead the qualifiers at the Southern California regional golf finals at The Golf Club at Rancho California in Murrieta in early November.

She also shot a 69 while finishing seventh at the AJGA ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior Championship. Vasilic has also competed at the U.S. Women's Amateur, the Junior Girls PGA Championship and the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions.

Vasilic set the female course record of 67 at The Golf Club at La Quinta en route to winning the 2008 Southern California PGA Toyota Tour Cup Championship. She also reached match-play semifinals of the 2010 AJGA Polo Junior Golf Classic. Her Canyon High School team is also a regular at the CIF State Championships.

The Wildcats will open the spring season with the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, Feb. 11-13, in Palo Verdes, Calif.
