TUCSON - University of Arizona Wildcat Softball has announced its 2012 fall schedule. Arizona will host nine home games including a bout with the National Professional Fastpitch All-Stars. All games will be free admission with first-come, first-served seating.

Arizona, which began workouts in mid-August, will begin team practice on Thursday, Sept. 27.

The team will commence its fall exhibition slate by welcoming in Yavapai College and Eastern Arizona for a round robin affair on Sunday, Oct. 7. Yavapai and Eastern will compete at 1:00 p.m. MST at Hillenbrand Stadium before Arizona takes on Yavapai and Eastern at 3:00 and 5:00, respectively.

Friday, Oct. 12 through Sunday, October 14, Hillenbrand Invitational will play host to 15 contests in the annual Arizona Fall Classic. UA welcomes South Mountain College, New Mexico, Cypress College, Central Arizona College and Pima Community College for the three-day event. Arizona will take on South Mountain College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, New Mexico at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Central Arizona at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Cypress at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday and Pima at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The tournament's full schedule is listed below.

The Wildcats will take on the NPF All-Stars on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 7:00 p.m. MST. The NPF All-Stars will be partaking in its Back to School Tour for the third consecutive year. Hillenbrand Stadium is one of 22 stops on the tour. The NPF All-Stars are 41-1 all-time in the tour, including a 9-0 victory in perfect fashion against the Wildcats on Oct. 4, 2010. The only NPF loss came to Oklahoma in 2011.

To conclude the fall schedule, Arizona welcomes back alumni to take part in a battle between current Cats and former Cats on Friday, Nov. 9 at 8:30 p.m. MST.
