May 12, 2012

More than 70 student-athletes received degrees this weekend as University of Arizona commencement ceremonies were held today in McKale Center.

The most-recent crop of spring graduates represented 15 sports. Men's and women's swimming and diving led the way with 15 combined graduates, followed by men's and women's track and field (12) and football (11).

Additionally, 188 student-athletes earned a grade point average of 3.0 or higher with another 17 at a perfect 4.0. Hanna Henson of track and field and Sarah NeSmith of soccer were honored as athletic department valedictorians.

On a day when the University of Arizona conferred more than 5,500 degrees, the department of athletics congratulates all the graduates of the Class of 2012.
