TUCSON, Ariz. -

No. 28 Arizona women's tennis (3-1) returns home this weekend to host No. 58 Sacramento State (0-0) and No. 20 Texas Tech (2-1). Arizona will face Sacramento State on Friday, Feb. 1 at 1:30 p.m. and Texas Tech on Saturday at noon.

Arizona head coach Vicky Maes and the Wildcats come into the weekend's match after splitting two matches last weekend at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. Arizona earned a win against No. 41 Minnesota, but dropped their match against No. 13 Texas A&M.

Freshman Shayne Austin (Oak Park, Calif.) earned her first singles victory against Minnesota. Juniors Akilah James (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Susan Mc Rann (Dublin, Ireland) remain undefeated in doubles play. Juniors Lacey Smyth (Oceanside, Calif.) and Kim Stubbe (Mol, Belgium) have been playing as the No. 1 and 2 and both players are 3-1 in singles play.

Last season, Arizona and Sacramento State met at Arizona's Robson Tennis Center and the Wildcats defeated the Hornets, 5-2. Arizona has faced Sacramento State four times in the past five years and the Wildcats are 3-1 all-time against the Hornets.

Sacramento State will officially start their season this Friday after finishing as 2012 Big Sky Conference champions for the 11th-consecutive season.

Arizona and Texas Tech has met three times in the past five years and Arizona is 3-0 in those matches. The last time that these two programs met was in 2010, when the Wildcats defeated the Red Raiders, 5-2.

Texas Tech heads to Tucson after dropping a match against No. 15 Baylor and defeating No. 29 Rice.

Arizona has won 15-consecutive home matches and will seek to continue that streak.
