FRESNO, Calif. - Arizona's doubles team of senior Michelle Gough and junior Sophie Regnier was defeated in the finals by the top seeded duo of Kim Niggemeyer and Simone Jardim of Fresno State, 8-5, Sunday at the Wathen/Hancock Bulldog Classic.
Earlier in the day, the fourth seeded duo of Gough and Regnier earned a
berth in the finals with a win over teammates, freshman Debbie Larocque and
Laresa Marino, 8-4.
In singles play, Gough dropped her semifinal round match to top seeded
Niggemeyer, 6-1, 6-4.
The Wildcats return to action in two weeks for the ITA Region VIII
Tournament, Nov. 9-13, in Irvine, Calif.
