TUCSON, Ariz. -
Arizona assistant women’s tennis coach Ryan Stotland was named head coach of the Fresno State women’s tennis team, the program announced on Monday.
Stotland coached under head coach Vicky Maes for four years at Arizona. In his last two years, he helped lead the Wildcats to two NCAA postseason tournament appearances, most recently advancing to the second round. He coached five nationally-ranked singles players, four nationally-ranked doubles teams and posted a 55-37 overall record.
In addition, Stotland signed the 11th-best recruiting class in the country according to tennisrecruiting.net and developed a freshman into the No. 27-ranked player in the ITA rankings. Each year, he has helped lead the team to a national ranking.
“We are very happy for Ryan,” Maes said. “It has been his dream to become a head coach someday and Fresno State is a great program. He will be able to build on the success of the Bulldogs and do well in the conference. We will miss him, but we wish him the very best.”
At Fresno State, Stotland will become the eighth coach in the history of the program.
