Arizona track and field high jumper Brigetta Barrett has high hopes of becoming a member of the 2012 U.S. Olympic team.
ARIZONA
2010: Perhaps the freshman with thebiggest impact during the 2010 season and the next in a long line of exceptional UA women's high jumpers...Won the MPSF Championship in the event indoors with a then-career best leap of 1.89m (6-2 1/4) to make it a 1-2 sweep for the Wildcats with teammate Liz Patterson finishing second...Would go on to finish third at the NCAA Indoor Championships and earn All-American honors with a jump of 1.84m (6-0 1/2)...Carried the success to the outdoor season where she finished third at the Pac-10 Championships and earned her second All-American award at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., with a seventh place finish...After the season, Barrett competed at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and finished third with a career best clearance of 1.91m (6-3 1/4), a mark that stands tied for fifth All-Time in Arizona history...
HIGH SCHOOL
Duncanville High School, Duncanville, Texas: One of the top high jumpers in the nation during her high school career...Set a school record mark of 6-1 during her time at Duncanville...Won the Texas State Meet in 2008 and 2009...Also the Texas Relays Champion in the event in 2008...Finished second place at the World Junior Qualifiers...Also competed for Roy C. Ketcham High School during her freshman and sophomore seasons...Was the indoor state champion in 2007 and second place outdoors...Was the district and regional champion indoors and outdoors during both her freshman and sophomore seasons...Holds the schools high jump record with her then personal best mark of 5-9....
