TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona volleyball team improved its record to 5-0 on the early season with a 3-0 sweep over Houston in the night cap of day one of the Marriott Tucson University Park Wildcat Classic.

The Wildcats, who earlier in the day defeated Nevada 3-0, found a tougher time against the Cougars but still prevailed with a sweeping win.

Dana Hutchinson and Tiffany Owens both recorded double-doubles for Arizona with Owens registering 15 kills and 10 digs while Hutchinson had 11 kills and 10 digs.  Teammate Whitney Dosty just missed joining the club as she recorded 11 kills and nine digs.

Arizona looked to be on its way to holding another opponent under the 20 point barrier in three straight matches, but Houston gave the Wildcats a tough third set before eventually falling 29-27.

Setter Paige Weber tallied 40 assists for Arizona who hit .316 for the match--its second time being over the .300 threshold today.

The Cats have only been forced to play four sets once in the early go of the season--vs. Pittsburgh last weekend.

Tomorrow Arizona will face fellow Eastern Washington for the tournament championship at 1 p.m.. Earlier EWU defeated both Houston and Nevada. Wildcat Classic All Tournament and MVP selections will also be handed out at the conclusion of tomorrow's 1 p.m. match
