The University of Arizona women's golf team completed play at the Pac-12 Preview in Kailua Kona, Hawaii on Tuesday. Arizona finished in second place at 5-over par with a total score of 881.
"It was a strong effort by the team today," said coach
Laura Ianello. "Unfortunately we fell a few shots short of ASU today. Krystal, Danielle and Haley had solid under par rounds, and Gigi fought hard with a 1-over par round. We are ending the fall season on a positive note and looking forward to an amazing spring. We will continue to focus on improving our putting and short game in the off season months."
Junior
Krystal Quihuis finished the tournament strong with a 3-under par round of 70. Quihuis tied for third place and earned her second top 10 finish of the year. Sophomore
Gigi Stoll tied for fourth place with a round of 74 which put her at -2 overall. Junior
Haley Moore finished the tournament at even par after a round of 72. Moore tied for seventh in the tournament, and has now finished in the top 15 in all four tournaments this year.
Sophomore
Danielle Lee tied for 26
th at nine-over par after she posted a round of 71. Freshman
Sandra Nordaas carded a round of 79 and finished the tournament in a tie for 56
th. Junior
Natalia Forero, who was competing as an individual, finished tied for 53
rd after a round of 79.
Arizona State won the tournament at 2-over par, three shots ahead of Arizona. Robynn Ree of USC won the individual competition with a final score of 6-under par.
The Pac-12 Preview was the Wildcats final tournament of the fall season, they will resume play on Feb. 5-7 at the Northrop Grumman.
