The University of Arizona women's continued play at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate on Monday, at the Reunion Resort Watson Course in Orlando, Fla. The Wildcats struggled at times throughout the day, but kept battling and currently sit in 10
th place at two-under-par for the tournament.
Â
"The team improved by shooting two-under-par today but we were not able to make much of a leap to reach the top of the leaderboard," said coach
Laura Ianello. "Our goal tomorrow is to go out and play like we know we can.
Danielle Lee made a great comeback by posting a 69. Haley and Krystal continue to be steady as well. Gigi and Natalia feel confident that they will be able to go low tomorrow. The course is very favorable and making pars on some holes feel like bogeys. We know the course well and will attack it accordingly tomorrow."
Â
The Cats had a second round score of two-under-par led by sophomore
Danielle Lee, who shot a great round of three-under-par 69. Sophomore
Haley Moore (-4) sits in a tie for 16
th place after her round of 71. Junior
Krystal Quihuis posted a 71 as well and is three-under-par for the tournament which puts her in a tie for 20
th place. Junior
Natalia Forero and sophomore
Gigi Stoll both posted rounds of 75.
Â
UCLA leads the team tournament (-25) as well as the individual competition with Lilia Vu currently at 11-under-par. The Wildcats will wrap up the tournament on Tuesday morning beginning play at 8:50 a.m. (ET). Live stats are available at
